You’re Not Listening—To God or Yourself. Here’s How to Return.

I’ve noticed something.

You’re overwhelmed. Drained. Constantly seeking confirmation, clarity, or even just comfort.

But it’s not coming from within.

Why?

Because you’re not listening—to God or yourself.

You’re listening to podcasts, parents, partners, preachers, planners, and people on the internet. Everyone but the quiet voice inside of you. Everyone but the God who still speaks.

It’s easier to outsource your truth than to sit still and hear it.

Easier to scroll than to be still.

Easier to crowdsource than to confront.

But here’s the truth:

The wisdom you’re looking for is already within you.

And the direction you need has already been whispered to your spirit.

So let’s return.

Let’s reset.

Let’s relearn how to listen.

Here’s How to Stop Listening to Everyone Else:

1. Practice Sacred Silence.

Create space each morning—even just 10 minutes—where you are unavailable to everyone except God and yourself: no music, no scrolling, no noise. Just breathe, being, and presence.

2. Ask before you ask.

Before you ask someone else for advice, ask yourself: What do I already know? What has God already said? Write the answer down. THEN you can seek confirmation—but don’t skip your voice in the process.

3. Audit your influences.

Look at who and what you’re consuming daily. Are these voices amplifying your connection to God and self or distracting you from it?

4. Fast from external noise.

Try a 24-hour break from content. No podcasts, YouTube, or social media. Use that space to check in: How am I doing? What do I need? You’ll be surprised what rises to the surface.

5. Return to journaling.

This is where your soul can speak freely. Your fears, your faith, your next steps—write them out. God meets us on the page more often than we realize.

If you feel distant from your voice, from your intuition, or from God, it’s not too late to return.

The truth is, you’ve always known.

You just stopped listening.

But you can begin again today.

With love
